Poems of Pandemic Days by Alice Curley

  • Yours
    Solitude is beautiful
    You are your own joy
No one can take it from you

    Tell me
    Why must we compare
When we could listen and learn
    From what isn’t ours

    A little less conversation
    Elvis had a point
You can press pause on the words
    And see what happens

    Common denominator
    Just figured it out
How they look looking at me
    that is what it is

    How i got here
    Steady as can be
    Extreme in fighting extremes
    to stay calm and well

    Pain Meds
It feels like i am better
    But then like clockwork
    It begins to hurt again

    Fire
Don’t get too close to the flame
    If you aren’t careful
You might learn to love the light

    Change
    You weren’t paying attention
    Until you got scared
    That you had actually changed

    Shifted Focus
I tried to watch a movie
    But got distracted
    By my soft pajama pants

    Go ask Alice
Not a bad place to visit
    Just confirmation
I wouldn’t want to live here

     I was thinking of you
    When you think about someone
    You write a story
    That they know nothing about

    Dream Haiku
    Dream notes don’t make sense
But they are still fun to share
    Kind of like a life

    Haiku – Thought
    Psychedelic brains
    Are often misunderstood
    But those minds don’t mind
